Associates of Wooster - Mike Andrewsh, Senior Engineer
Discover the story of Mike Andrewsh, a longtime Wooster team member whose straightforward approach, PennDOT expertise, and decades of experience continue to help clients navigate complex projects throughout Pennsylvania, and beyond.
At Wooster, Mike Andrewsh is often the first person teammates turn to when a project involves PennDOT. Over decades in the industry, he has built strong working relationships and earned the trust of key stakeholders, helping clients navigate complex approvals and keep projects moving forward.
Originally from Scranton — yes, that Scranton made famous by The Office — Mike brings decades of experience in traffic and highway engineering, having worked on everything from regional transportation studies to multimillion-dollar roadway improvements across Pennsylvania.
Known for his practical approach and steady hand, Mike combines technical expertise with the perspective that only comes from years in the field. Around the office, he's just as likely to share a story from his early career as he is to help a teammate work through a challenging project.
When he's not helping move developments forward, you might find Mike taking a walk to discover a new lunch spot around our North Shore office, working on his golf or tennis swing, or gearing up for another season with his bowling league team.
How long have you been at Wooster?
Coming up on about 18 years this time around — plus some earlier years in the '90s. It's been a long run.
What exactly do you do here?
I focus on highway design and PennDOT coordination, helping projects move through approvals and making sure everything lines up with requirements.
Favorite Wooster projects?
McCandless Crossing stands out. It's a large, high-profile project, and it was rewarding to take ownership of it and help move it through the process.
What has been your favorite part of your career?
Working on large-scale highway projects earlier in my career — regional studies, major infrastructure work, and million-dollar jobs.
What do you do outside of work?
Golf, tennis, and bowling. I also enjoy shooting and archery — especially using a recurve bow.
Favorite Wooster event?
Our summer outing used to be a Kennywood Park day — I learned the hard way how many rides is too many. I do like cleaning up Crafton Boulevard with the team. It's nice to visit our old office neighborhood.
What keeps you busy these days?
Staying active, spending time outdoors, and keeping up with bowling league nights whenever the season rolls around.
Whether he's helping navigate a PennDOT approval, sharing decades of industry perspective, or swapping stories around the office, Mike's experience, humor, and straightforward approach continue to make him an invaluable part of the Wooster team.
