Environmental Permitting Engineer 

 

Position Overview: 

As an Environmental Permitting Engineer in our Pittsburgh office, the ideal candidate will work with our dedicated staff to create and design Land Development Plans and oversee all Environmental Permitting related to residential, commercial, and institutional land developments.   

 

The selected candidate will participate in the design of Site Plans, Grading Plans, Stormwater Management Plans, Water Quality and Best Management Practices, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans, NPDES Permit Applications and Utility Plan design.   

 

Interacting with our clients, their contractors and local municipal officials, the ideal candidate will be involved with multiple projects – from inception, through the municipal and regulatory review/approval process and throughout construction. 

 

Position Requirements / Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related field. 
  • 3-5 years professional experience 
  • EIT or other professional certification preferred but not required. 
  • Experienced in the preparation of Land Development Plans, Documents and Reports 
  • Experienced in Environmental Permitting with state and federal regulatory agencies. 
  • NPDES Permit Applications 
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater management software. 
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with excellent problem-solving capabilities. 

 

Salary / Compensation: 

  • $75,000-$95,000 
  • Rate commensurate with qualifications and experience
